MRFC Wins 7-0 in an easy 2nd round tie vs BTPU

MRFC had 85% possession for the match.  It was clearly a mis match.  MRFC had numerous chances to score in the first 20 minutes after running thru their opponent.  Carlos missed a sitter. Larry had 2 chances to easily finish. Vince got too cute.  Finally we broke with Winje taking the fullback on and crossing to Mikael who headed it in for 1-0. 5 minutes later thru great passing juele made a run down the flank collected the ball and found newcomer Dannish for 2-0. The young man seems to be a great signing.  2nd half was all MRFC I mean we have never had so much control and be able to do what we wanted like this. BTPU is not a good side but the training is showing for our side for sure. MRFC was attacking and Luis took a shot the ball came back and Eduardo trapped and passed to Vince who embarassed the keeper near post for 3-0. Joel, vince and Luis really controlled the game well. Jerome came in for Luis who had a knock and nothing changed.  The trio found Eduardo wide open who crossed to an unmarked David who plays Left back at the back post and finished.  4-nil.  We really encourge our backs to attack and score. Carlos was one touching the ball the whole match to on running midfielders the whole match.  He collected a thru pass and beat 2 defenders and shot from 25 yrds out passed a helpless keeper. 5-0.  The bench was cleared and Vince went on and AND1 show  Football snaking, megging and just tooling folks from the other side.  He snaked a defender on the left flank who almost fell and crossed to B who one touched it in the net.  3 minutes later David found Dannish in the box who calmly finished to make it 7-nil.  Great win against a subpar side.  MRFC showed good pressure defensively and poissessed the ball with great skill.

Loss to the Bays quarterfinals

MRFC were misssing their 2 centre halfs and that really cost them.  We out possessed the Bays 60-40 easily however the 2 players that came in just didn't match up well and we lost our rhythm.  With possession in our favor we atttacked but at times touched the ball too much per player.  We play a 2 touch system and players went wild.  Thge bays scored off of 2 long balls that split our defense for goals!!!!!! We scored one back after Juele just embarrassed the left side of their defense by beating 2 players and crossing to Vince wide open in the middle.  We left ourselves open to the counter attack and the Bays finished us off with 1 more 3-1 loss!
