MRFC vs Corinto Morazon F.C.
MRFC started out in this game dominating the play. Through balls, using the flanks, just opening up the run of play. Carlos Stein got a chance with a free kick about 30 yards out. Carlos has scored most of his goals off of free kicks this season. He stepped up and put alot of pace on the ball and the keeper made a great full extension save! Big Ups to him! Corinto in the 2nd half had 2 chances and finished both of them due to bad marking on MRFC side. They went up 2-nil. MRFC had some chances as Ryan Olsen took a blast from 25 yards out and missed by a foot. Corinto Morazon won the match 2-nil to advance to the finals against Sal Y Mar. Out of the final four sides 3 were from the Maryland International league! the competition is deep in our league.
MRFC vs Honduras de Vienna
MRFC started out strong again controlling the midfield with Carlos and Sammy. Garfield and Juele held up top. MRFC kept knocking the ball around and Carlos one timed it to Garfield who found a wide open Juele lawrence 1 on 1 with the keeper and touched to the left where the keeper made a great save to pare the ball out. 10 min later MRFC got a corner where Garfield played a simple touch to Carlos who beat 2 players to cross the ball in the middle to Nick Keng Son who chested to Sammy Chavez who punished the ball past the keeper. 1-nil MRFC
2nd half MRFC kept coming and creating chances off the flank. garfield did his usual magic and drew 2 players to him and touched it to Nawaz Contractor. Nawaz crossede a picture perfect ball to a wide open Carlos Stein who headed it upper ninety from 10 yards out. 2-nil MRFC BREAKDOWN. 2-nil is not a good score for us as we blow it most of the time! We let 2 goals go in in the last 18 min to get a draw and go to spot kicks. As we have done this tournament we made our kicks they blew theirs. MRFC get 3rd place disappointing place for the side but we did win $500 dollars for 3rd place!
